Criteria for Selection:

The Selection Committee for the Health Activity Center M. Harold Laughlin Scholarship Fund is accepting nominations for the 2006-07 M. Harold Laughlin Scholar. This scholarship ($500) recognizes an outstanding graduate student, post doctoral fellow, medical student, intern, or resident and/or veterinary student, intern, or resident who has contributed outstanding research in physical inactivity and chronic disease or promoted physical activity and health. The recipient must embody Dr. Laughlin’s characteristics of high integrity and genuine caring for the health of humans and/or animals.

Application Materials:

To be considered for this award, please submit 1) a curriculum vitae, 2) a letter highlighting accomplishments and commitment to inactivity/activity related research and 3) two (2) letters of recommendation from MU faculty. Applicants must be full-time affiliates of MU. Deadline for receipt of materials is August 15th, 2006. Awards will be announced September 1st, 2006. Requests for applications will occur annually, at which time the materials for the application will be described.
